Nick Garnett
Nick Garnett (born October 1964, Liverpool) is an English people, English journalist and broadcaster with the British Broadcasting Corporation. He works for the broadcaster's national TV news bulletins, the BBC News (TV channel), BBC News Channel, network radio stations and the BBC News Online, BBC News website. Biography Garnett grew up in Liverpool, England. He worked at a number of local radio stations before joining BBC Radio 5 Live in 1994. In 2020 he became one of the BBC's North of England Reporters. In 1998 he was one of the first field reporters at the BBC to be issued with a Nera ASA, Nera M4 Satellite in 1998 which enabled him to operate as a single-person radio broadcaster. His work during the British General Election of 2010 was reviewed in ''The Daily Telegraph''. He has written about his life as a reporter working overseas as he travelled from Nepal to Tunisia and Eastern Europe in 2015. Lucy Letby
Lucy Letby (born 4 January 1990) is a British serial killer and former neonatal nurse convicted of the murder of seven infants and attempted murder of six others between June 2015 and June 2016. Letby was the focus of suspicion following a high number of infant deaths at the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital, shortly after she was qualified to work with children in the hospital's intensive care unit, and owing to her being on duty whenever suspicious incidents took place. Letby was charged in November 2020 with eight counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder. During her trial, which lasted from October 2022 to August 2023, it was revealed that Letby's methods included injecting the infants with air or insulin, overfeeding them, and physically abusing them with medical tools. Death Of Jay Slater
On the morning of 17 June 2024, 19-year-old Jay Dean Slater, an apprentice bricklayer from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, disappeared on the island of Tenerife, Spain, after attempting to walk ten hours back to his accommodation as a result of missing a bus. Slater had attended a music festival in Playa De Las Américas with two friends the day before his disappearance. Extensive searches headed by the Guardia Civil and aided by volunteers found no body. Less than two weeks after his disappearance, on 30 June, Tenerife police stated that they were discontinuing the search for Slater, although the investigation remained open, for which they were later criticised.
