Nick Archer
Nicholas Stewart Archer (born 24 December 1960) is a British diplomat, the British ambassador to the Czech Republic (Her Majesty's Diplomatic Service, HM Diplomatic Service). Previously he served as ambassador to Denmark and High Commissioner to Malta. Early life Nick Archer went to the independent Denstone College in East Staffordshire. He attended St Chad's College, Durham University, gaining a Bachelor of Arts, BA in English and German in 1982. Career He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983. From 1995 to 1997 he was First Secretary (diplomatic rank), First Secretary in Oslo, and from 1997 to 2000 he was Assistant Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales. He gained a more senior position, becoming Head of the Foreign and commonwealth office, FCO's NE Asia and Pacific Department from 2001 to 2002, then that of the FCO's Near East and N Africa Department from 2002 to 2005. Type 1 diabetes (T1D), formerly known as juvenile diabetes, is an autoimmune disease that originates when cells that make insulin (beta cells) are destroyed by the immune system.
