Nicholas Brown III (October 2, 1792 – March 2, 1859) was the United States Consul to the Papal court from 1845 to 1853 and later was Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island from 1856 to 1857, serving under Governor W. W. Hoppin. Early life Nicholas Brown III was born on October 2, 1792, in Providence, Rhode Island, the eldest of three surviving children born to Nicholas Brown Jr. (1769–1841), the namesake patron of Brown University, and Ann Carter, daughter of John Carter, a prominent printer in Providence. His younger brother was John Carter Brown II (1797–1874). His grandfather was Nicholas Brown Sr. (1729–1791), brother of John Brown, Moses Brown, and Joseph Brown, who was a merchant and slave trader who co-founded the College in the English Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations which is today known as Brown University. Nicholas Brown (died 1726, first name also Nicolas) was an English pirate who was active off the coast of Jamaica during the early 18th century. History Brown was among a large group of pirates who accepted the 1717-1718 pardon offered to pirates by King George. Like several others, he soon returned to piracy, surrendering to the Spanish on Cuba before sailing in their service out of Trinidad. Governor Nicholas Laws of Jamaica wrote to Spanish magistrates in Trinidad in 1722 demanding “Satisfaction of you for so many notorious Robberies which your People have lately committed on the King's Subjects of this Island; particularly by those Traytors, Nicolas Brown and Christopher Winter, to whom you have given Protection.” In 1723 he captured an English ship near Hispaniola with over 300 slaves aboard. Nicholas John Brown
Nicholas John Brown (9 October 1838 – 22 September 1903) was a pastoralist and politician in colonial Tasmania, a Speaker of the Tasmanian House of Assembly. Brown was the son of Richard Brown, was born at Hobart and educated at the Hutchins School, Hobart, and later engaged in pastoral pursuits. Brown was a member for the Cumberland District in the Tasmanian House of Assembly from January 1875. He was Minister of Lands and Works in the first Philip Fysh Ministry from August 1877 to December 1878, and held the same post in the William Giblin Ministry from December 1882 to August 1884, and in the Douglas and Agnew Ministries from that date till March 1887. Nicholas Brown is an Australian actor, screenwriter, playwright, singer and songwriter. Personal life Brown grew up in the Western Sydney suburb of Greystanes with parents Roy and Patricia Brown and older sister Tracey. He attended Newtown High School of the Performing Arts in years 11 and 12. Whilst at NHSPA he represented the school in various drama and music festivals including OnStage and was elected School Captain in 1997. Sir John Grenfell Crawford (4 April 1910 – 28 October 1984) was an agricultural economist and a key architect of Australia's post-war growth. Nicholas Alahverdian
Nicholas Alahverdian (born July 11, 1987), also known as Nicholas Rossi and Arthur Knight, among other aliases, is an American sex offender who faked his own death in 2020. Alahverdian alleged that he suffered abuse and negligence in the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF), Rhode Island's social service system. In support of this allegation, he unsuccessfully sued the DCYF in federal court in 2011, then voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit when Rhode Island waived his medical expenses debt of around $200,000. In January 2020, Alahverdian said that he had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
