Nic Clemons
Nic Clemons (born February 3, 1980) is a former American football defensive tackle. He was originally signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2003. He played college football at Georgia. High school career Clemons attended Griffin High School, but did not play high school football. Instead, he was a key player on the basketball team that reached the Class AAA final four. As a forward, he averaged five points and four rebounds per game. He is the brother of Chris Clemons of the Seattle Seahawks and nephew of former NFL linebacker Charlie Clemons, who he lists as his role model. College career Clemons attended junior college at Georgia Military College where he earned Honorable Mention Junior College All-American in 1999. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Charlie Clemons
Charlie Fitzgerald Clemons (born July 4, 1972) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League. He was signed by the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 1997. He played college football at Georgia. Clemons also played for the New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans. He earned a Super Bowl ring with the Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV. In the Rams 1999 season he had 44 tackles, 23 of which were on special teams. He was a free agent after the 1999 season, and in early 2000 signed a four-year $6 million deal with the Saints. Turf Toe
A metatarsophalangeal joint sprain is an injury to the connective tissue between the foot and a toe (at a metatarsophalangeal joint, one of the joints in the ball of the foot). When the big toe is involved, it is known as "turf toe". Causes Turf toe is named from the injury being associated with playing sports on rigid surfaces such as artificial turf and is a fairly common injury among professional American football players. Often, the injury occurs when someone or something falls on the back of the calf while that leg's knee and tips of the toes are touching the ground.
