Niamh Smyth
Niamh Smyth (born 5 May 1978) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cavan–Monaghan constituency since the 2016 general election. She was appointed Chair of the Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht in September 2020. She was a member of Cavan County Council from 2009 to 2016. Smyth was elected as the first president of the Fianna Fáil women's network on 14 September 2015. In May 2016, she was appointed to the Fianna Fáil Front Bench as Spokesperson for the Arts and Heritage. Personal and early life Smyth was born to Dessie and Maura Smyth. A Teachta Dála ( , ; plural ), abbreviated as TD (plural ''TDanna'' in Irish, TDs in English), is a member of Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (the Irish Parliament). It is the equivalent of terms such as ''Member of Parliament'' (MP) or '' Member of Congress'' used in other countries. The official translation of the term is "Deputy to the Dáil", although a more literal translation is "Assembly Delegate". Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin
Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin (; born 18 September 1953) is a former Irish Sinn Féin politician who served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cavan–Monaghan constituency from 1997 to 2020. Ó Caoláin's victory in 1997 made him the first member of Sinn Féin to be elected to the Dáil since 1957, and the first to actually take their seat since 1922. His election, which paralleled the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, is cited as the beginning of Sinn Féin's involvement in the formal national politics of the Republic of Ireland. This is a list of the members elected to the 32nd Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (legislature) of Ireland. These TDs (members of parliament) were elected at the 2016 general election on 26 February. That general election took place throughout the state to elect 158 members of Dáil Éireann, a reduction of 8 from the prior number of 166. Pauline Tully (formerly Pauline Tully-McAuley) is an Irish Sinn Féin politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cavan–Monaghan constituency since the 2020 general election. She was a member of Cavan County Council for the Ballyjamesduff local electoral area from the 1999 election until 2012. Early and personal life Tully grew up on a farm in Kilnaleck, County Cavan, where she still lives. She teaches history at Breifne College. Matt Carthy (born 19 July 1977) is an Irish Sinn Féin politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cavan–Monaghan constituency since the 2020 general election. He previously served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Midlands–North-West constituency from 2014 to 2020. Early and personal life Carthy was born in Birmingham, England, in 1977. Seán Conlan
Seán Conlan (born 1975) is an Irish former independent politician, who formerly sat as a member of Fine Gael in Dáil Éireann. He was elected as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cavan–Monaghan constituency at the 2011 general election. He lives in Ballybay, County Monaghan.
