Niall Ó Muineacháin
Niall Ó Muineacháin (born 10 July 1989) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left corner-back for the Kildare senior team. Born in Celbridge, County Kildare, Mackey first arrived on the inter-county scene when he first linked up with the Kildare minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 2008 Christy Ring Cup. Ó Muineacháin has gone on to play a key role for Kildare since then, and has won one Christy Ring Cup medal and one National League (Division 3A) medal. At club level Ó Muineacháin is a four-time championship medallist with Celbridge. He scored an own goal against London in the opening minute of the 2022 Christy Ring Cup contest. Celbridge GAA
Celbridge is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. They were awarded Kildare GAA club of the year in 2008, winners of the Kildare senior football championship of 2008, finalists in the senior football league of 1923, 1988 and 2008 and won the Kildare senior hurling and camogie championships in 2005. The club has also won several honours at underage levels in all three codes, qualifying for national finals in football, hurling and camogie at the 2008 Féile. History Celbridge GAA club was formed in July 1885. In the early 1990s, a new executive committee began the task of raising funds to build the present club house. 2014 Christy Ring Cup
The 2014 Christy Ring Cup was the tenth staging of the Christy Ring Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2005. The cup competition began on 3 May 2014 and ended on 7 June 2014. Down were the defending champions; however, they lost their opening two games and avoided relegation by defeating Armagh in a play-off, before being awarded the final promotion/relegation playoff when Tyrone withdrew. Kerry GAA
The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. It is responsible for Gaelic games in County Kerry, and for the Kerry county teams. The Kerry branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in the year 1888. Football is the dominant sport in the county, with both the men's and women's teams among the strongest in the country at senior level. The county football team was the fourth from the province of Munster to win an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), as well as to appear in the final, following Limerick, Tipperary and Cork. John Griffin (hurler)
John Griffin (born 1983) is an Irish hurler who plays as a midfielder for the Kerry senior team. Born in Lixnaw, County Kerry, Griffin first played competitive hurling in his youth. He arrive don the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kerry minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2006 league. Griffin quickly became a regular member of the starting fifteen and has won two Christy Ring Cup medals and two National Hurling League medals in the lower divisions. He has been a Christy Ring runner-up on three occasions. At international level Griffin has played for the composite rules shinty-hurling team, winning a championship medal in 2009. The Down County Board ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae An Dún) or Down GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Down, Northern Ireland. The County Board is responsible for preparing the Down county teams in the various Gaelic sporting codes; football, hurling, camogie and handball. Paul Braniff (hurler)
Paul Braniff (born 1982) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a full-forward for the Down senior team. Braniff made his first appearance for the team during the 2000 championship and has remained as a regular member of the team since then. Although he has won a Ulster medals at under-21 level, Braniff has enjoyed little success with the Down senior team. Braniff scored 3–9 in the National Hurling League Division 2 Final in 2004 where Down beat Westmeath 5–15 to 3–07. Braniff led Down to their first Christy Ring Cup in 2013 in a 3–16 to 2–17 over Kerry with a Gareth 'Magic' Johnson goal in injury-time goal won it for the Ardsmen. Kehoe Cup
The Kehoe Cup ( ; ga, Corn Mhic Eochaidh) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association ( GAA) since 1977 for second- and third-tier inter-county teams in the province of Leinster in Ireland. Nowadays, teams from the provinces of Ulster and Connacht are eligible to compete; formerly, teams from third-level institutions within the three provinces also did. The competition runs each January. Sponsored by Bord na Móna, it is therefore officially known as the Bord na Móna Kehoe Cup. The 2009 National Hurling League (known as the Allianz National Hurling League for sponsorship reasons) was the 78th season of the National Hurling League. Structure The National Hurling League saw a major restructuring of the usual four divisions with the teams divided more equitably into a five-tier structure.
