Niagara United
Niagara United FC is a Canadian association football, soccer team founded in 1973. The club is a former member of the Canadian Soccer League (CSL), where it fielded a professional team from 2011-2015, and now operates youth teams in the Niagara Soccer League. The team plays its home games in Kalar Sports Park in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In 2011, the club joined the CSL and played in the CSL Reserve Division, CSL Second Division. After a successful debut season Niagara was promoted to the First Division, and qualified for the playoffs in their first season in the top flight. The following season the club went through a rebuilding stage focusing on developing and recruiting local players. In 2016, Niagara announced its departure from the league. Kalar Sports Park
Kalar Sports Park is a multi-purpose outdoor sports facility in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The stadium is owned by the Niagara United Football Club. It is located on 6775 Kalar Road. On August 17, 2012 Niagara United received a grant of $75, 000 from Ontario Trillium Foundation for the purchase of a new scoreboard. The club also spent around $750, 000 in renovations for the increase in stadium seats, scoreboard, new clubhouse, and new FIFA -approved turf field in order to accommodate the clubs needs by joining the Canadian Soccer League. Gary Boughton
Gary Boughton (born November 16, 1988) is an American soccer player played in the USL Premier Development League, USL Professional League, Major Indoor Soccer League, National Premier Soccer League, and the Canadian Soccer League. Career College and amateur Boughton played college soccer at Medaille College. He led his Medaille team to four straight undefeated conference championships, three trips to the NCAA tournament, and in his senior year smashed the NCAA career assists record, registering 82 career assists in his four years. He also tallied 35 goals in 86 career collegiate games. The 2015 Canadian Soccer League season was the 18th since its establishment where a total of 22 teams from Ontario took part in the league. The season began on May 9, 2015, and concluded on October 25, 2015. Toronto Croatia won their sixth championship (ninth including Canadian National Soccer League titles) in a 1–0 victory over SC Waterloo in the CSL Championship final held at Warrior Field in Waterloo, Ontario. The 2014 Canadian Soccer League season was the 17th since its establishment where a total of 20 teams from Ontario took part in the league. The season began on May 24, 2014, and concluded on October 26, 2014. York Region Shooters won their second championship in a 5–4 victory in a penalty shootout over Toronto Croatia in the CSL Championship final held at Esther Shiner Stadium in Toronto. The 2012 Canadian Soccer League season (known as the Givova Canadian Soccer League for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th since its establishment where a total of 28 teams from Ontario and Quebec took part in the league. The season began on 5 May 2012, and concluded on 27 October 2012. Toronto Croatia defended their championship in a 1–0 victory over the Montreal Impact Academy in the CSL Championship final at Centennial Park Stadium in Toronto. Montreal became the second Quebec club after Trois-Rivières Attak to reach the final, while Toronto added more silverware to their cabinet by winning the double during the regular season.
