Ngô Xương Xí
Ngô Xương Xí ( vi-hantu, 吳昌熾, ?–968) was a Ngô dynasty crown prince and warlord of Vietnam during the Period of the 12 Warlords. Xí was a son of King Ngô Xương Ngập, a co-ruler of Ngô dynasty. In 965, when his uncle, King Ngô Xương Văn was killed in the battle, Crown Prince Ngô Xương Xí became the head of the Ngô royal household. ( vi-hantu, 越南史略, french: Précis d'Histoire du Việt-Nam, lit. "Outline History of Vietnam"), was the first history text published in the Vietnamese and the Vietnamese alphabet. It was compiled by Vietnamese historian Trần Trọng Kim. It covered the period from Hồng Bàng dynasty to the time of French Indochina. The book was first published in 1920 and reprinted many times. Ngô Chân Lưu ( vi-hantu, 吳真流, 933–1011), title Khuông Việt (), was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and poet. Đại Việt Sử Ký Toàn Thư
The ''Đại Việt sử ký toàn thư'' ( vi-hantu, 大越史記全書; ; ''Complete Annals of Đại Việt'') is the official national chronicle of the Vietnamese state, that was originally compiled by the royal historian Ngô Sĩ Liên under the order of the Emperor Lê Thánh Tông and was finished in 1479 during the Lê period. The 15-volume book covered the period from Hồng Bàng Dynasty to the coronation of Lê Thái Tổ, the first emperor of the Lê Dynasty in 1428. In compiling his work, Ngô Sĩ Liên based on two principal historical sources which were ''Đại Việt sử ký'' by Lê Văn Hưu and ''Đại Việt sử ký tục biên'' by Phan Phu Tiên. After its publication, ''Đại Việt sử ký toàn thư'' was continually supplemented by other historians of the royal court such as Vũ Quỳnh, Phạm Công Trứ and Lê Hi. Ngô Dynasty
The Ngô dynasty (; Chữ Nôm: 茹吳) was a dynasty that ruled Tĩnh Hải quân (Jinghai) in northern Vietnam from 939 to 968. The dynasty was founded by Ngô Quyền, who led Vietnamese forces in the Battle of Bạch Đằng River against the Chinese Southern Han dynasty in 938. Around 930, as Ngô Quyền rose to power, northern Vietnam was militarily occupied by the Southern Han and was treated as an autonomous province and vassal state of Later Tang Dynasty, referred to as Tĩnh Hải quân. Every year the Jiedushi of Tĩnh Hải quân had to pay tribute to its Chinese master in exchange for peace and political support. Đinh Bộ Lĩnh
Đinh Bộ Lĩnh (924–979) (r. 968–979), real name allegedly Đinh Hoàn ( 丁 桓), was the first Vietnamese emperor following the liberation of the country from the rule of the Chinese Southern Han Dynasty, as well as the founder of the short-lived Đinh Dynasty and a significant figure in the establishment of Vietnamese independence and political unity in the 10th century. He unified Vietnam by defeating twelve rebellious warlords and became the first emperor of Vietnam. Upon his ascension, he renamed the country ''Đại Cồ Việt''.
