Ng Jui Ping
Ng Jui Ping (17 October 1948 – 1 January 2020) was a Singaporean lieutenant-general who served as Chief of Defence Force between 1992 and 1995. Education Ng held a Master of Arts in history from Duke University. He attended the six-week Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Military career Ng's career in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) spanned 30 years. He served as Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Personnel), Commander of 3rd Division, and Chief of Army between 1990 and 1992, and later as Chief of Defence Force between 1992 and 1995. Ng retired from the SAF in 1995. Entrepreneurial career After leaving the military, Ng took up an entrepreneurial route. Colony Of Singapore
Singapore was a British colony for 144 years, apart from a period of occupation under the Japanese Empire from 1942 to 1945 during the Pacific War. When the Empire of Japan surrendered to the Allies in 1945, at the end of World War II, Singapore was returned to British rule. The Straits Settlements were subsequently dissolved in 1946, and together with Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Christmas Island, Singapore became a separate Crown colony. The Crown colony was governed by the United Kingdom until it gained partial internal self-governance in 1955. Singapore subsequently gained full internal self-governance on 3 June 1959, at which point it became known as the State of Singapore. Lim Neo Chian
Lim Neo Chian is a Singaporean former major-general who served as Chief of Army between 1992 and 1995. After leaving the Singapore Army, he has held both executive and non-executive positions in various organisations, including the Jurong Town Corporation, Economic Development Board, ST Engineering, Singapore Tourism Board and the Singapore Cruise Centre. Education Lim graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1975 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. He attended the Program for Management Development and the six-week Advanced Management Program in Harvard Business School in 1988 and 2002 respectively. Bey Soo Khiang (born 10 August 1955) is a Singaporean former lieutenant-general who served as Chief of Defence Force between 1995 and 2000. He was the first Chief of Air Force to serve as Chief of Defence Force. Education Bey was awarded the Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship in 1974. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in engineering from the University of Cambridge. He also completed a Master of Public Administration degree at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and attended the six-week Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
