Route 215, also known as Petit Forte Road, is a east–west highway on the Burin Peninsula of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It connects the towns of Boat Harbour, Brookside, and Petit Forte with Route 210 (Heritage Run/Burin Peninsula Highway). Route description Route 215 begins just west of Boat Harbour at an intersection with Route 210 and heads east to immediately pass through the community. It now becomes very curvy and winding as it travels along the coastline through some hills to pass through Brookside before turning inland through remote terrain for several kilometres. The highway now dips to the south to follow the coast again as it enters Petite Forte and passes by a dock for a ferry leading to South East Bight. Route 215 passes through neighbourhoods before coming to an end shortly thereafter at the centre of town. Route 210, also known as the Burin Peninsula Highway and Heritage Run, is a highway that extends through the Burin Peninsula from Goobies to Grand Bank, Newfoundland and Labrador. The maximum speed limit is 90 km/h except through communities and settlements where the speed limit is reduced to 50 km/h. Just after exiting Swift Current, until a few kilometres north of Marystown, much of the landscape is barren, with very few trees prevalent. After entering Marystown, motorists approach a junction where they could turn right to continue their journey on Route 210 until arriving at Grand Bank, or going straight onto Route 220 towards Burin and St. Lawrence. South East Bight, Newfoundland And Labrador
South East Bight (SEB) or Southeast Bight is a local service district and designated place in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is on the western shore of Placentia Bay on the Burin Peninsula. The community is not connected by road and is only accessible by ferry from Petite Forte. Many people from the community travel to Monkstown in the winter by snowmobile, but is very uncommon to try to get there in the summer, because of marsh, bogs, ponds and hills. To get to South East Bight one must travel towards Marystown on the Burin Peninsula, turn off the highway at Boat Harbour, travel to Petite Forte and then take a half-hour ferry ride to South East Bight.
