New Zealand Cricket Team In Pakistan In 1969–70
The New Zealand national cricket team toured Pakistan in October to November 1969 and played a three-match Test series against the Pakistan national cricket team. New Zealand won the Test series 1–0. New Zealand were captained by Graham Dowling and Pakistan by Intikhab Alam. New Zealand had just finished three Test campaigns in England and India. This was the first ever series win by New Zealand after almost 40 years and 30 consecutive winless series. New Zealand National Cricket Team
The New Zealand national cricket team represents New Zealand in men's international cricket. Named the Black Caps, they played their first Test in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth country to play Test cricket. From 1930 New Zealand had to wait until 1956, more than 26 years, for its first Test victory, against the West Indies at Eden Park in Auckland. They played their first ODI in the 1972–73 season against Pakistan in Christchurch. The National Stadium (Urdu: نیشنل سٹیڈیم), also referred to as National Bank Cricket Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket stadium in Karachi, Pakistan, owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board. It is the home ground of Karachi Kings and Karachi's many other domestic cricket teams. It is the largest cricket stadium in Pakistan with a capacity of 34,228 spectators. It was built in early 1950s under the supervision of senior civil engineer Mr. Abdul Rasheed Khan (WP) and Mr. Kafiluddin (EP), was formally inaugurated in April 1955. Umar Khan (1919 – 4 August 1990) was a Pakistani cricketer and umpire. He played in twenty-one first-class matches between 1935 and 1946. Gaddafi Stadium
Gaddafi Stadium ( ur, , translit=Qaẕẕāfī Isṭeḍiyam), previously known as Lahore Stadium is a cricket stadium in Lahore, Pakistan and the home ground of Lahore Qalandars. It is owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). With a capacity of 27,000, it is the fourth largest cricket stadium of Pakistan. Gaddafi Stadium was the first in Pakistan to be equipped with modern floodlights having their own standby power generators. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Shafqat Rana ( Punjabi, ur, , born August 10, 1943) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in five Tests from 1964 to 1969. Shafqat Rana was a right-handed batsman, strong on the drive and cut, who played five Tests in six years. He made his highest Test score of 95 in the Second Test against New Zealand in 1969, which was also Pakistan's highest score in the three-Test series. He also made 65 in the Third Test. He made his first-class debut in 1959-60, and toured England with the Pakistan Eaglets in 1963. He toured Australia and New Zealand with the Pakistan team in 1964-65, scoring 182 runs at 18.20 and not playing in any of the Tests. Bruce Murray (cricketer)
Bruce Alexander Grenfell Murray (18 September 1940 – 10 January 2023) was a Test cricketer for New Zealand who played 13 Tests as a right-handed opening batsman between 1968 and 1971. He was a school principal in the Wellington area from 1981 to 2002, and the author of several geography textbooks. After retiring from teaching he was a cricket administrator in Wellington and a historian. Mushtaq Mohammad PP (Urdu: مشتاق محمد; born 22 November 1943) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 57 Tests and 10 ODIs from 1959 to 1979. A right-handed batsman and a leg-spinner, he is one of the most successful Pakistani all-rounders and went on to captain his country in nineteen Test matches. He was the first and to date only Pakistani to score a century and take five wickets in an innings in the same test match twice. Syed Zaheer Abbas Kirmani PP, (in Punjabi and Urdu: سید ظہیر عباس کرمانی; born 24 July 1947), popularly known as Zaheer Abbas, is a former Pakistani cricketer. He is among few professional cricketers who used to wear spectacles. In 1982/1983, he became the first batsman to score three consecutive centuries in one-day internationals.
