The four-lane route extends for through mostly residential areas from an interchange with U.S. Route 9 (US 9) in the city of Albany to an intersection with NY 378 in the village of Menands. NY 377 was assigned to its current alignment in the mid-1930s. Route description NY 377 begins adjacent to Albany Memorial Hospital at an interchange with US 9 in the city of Albany. The highway initially heads to the northeast as a four-lane, city-maintained road, following Northern Boulevard along the south side of Wolfert's Roost Country Club and the northern edge of a housing tract. Menands, New York
Menands is a village in Albany County, New York, United States. The population was 3,990 at the 2010 census. The village is named after Louis Menand. The village lies inside the town of Colonie and borders the northern city line of Albany. History Menands would have been first spotted by Europeans ''circa'' 1609, when Henry Hudson dropped anchor somewhere near Cuyler or Pleasure Island during his voyage on the river later to be named after him. This would be the furthest north on the river that Hudson would go in the Half Moon. New York State Route 378 (NY 378) is a state highway in the Capital District of New York in the United States. It runs from Loudonville to Troy and traverses the Hudson River via the Menands Bridge. NY 378 once connected to Menands Road in the village of Menands; however, Menands Road has since been split in two by a now-closed exit ramp. Colonie is a town in Albany County, New York, United States.
