New York State Route 207
New York State Route 207 (NY 207) is a east–west state highway located entirely within Orange County, New York, in the United States. It serves as a connector between the village of Goshen and the city of Newburgh. It has for a long time provided the main access to Stewart International Airport. The highway follows the path of the old Goshen–Newburgh Turnpike and is a two-lane road through its entire length. It is also shared with New York State Bicycle Route 17. Route description NY 207 begins at exit 124 of the Quickway ( NY 17 and US 6) and a junction with NY 17M in the village of Goshen. Also present at the intersection is NY 17A, which terminates at the same junction and whose right-of-way becomes NY 207. Entering downtown Goshen, NY 207 gains the Greenwich Avenue moniker, until reaching the junction with Church Street, where it turns onto Main Street. Goshen (town), New York
Goshen is a town in Orange County, New York, United States. The population was 13,687 at the 2010 census. The town is named after the Biblical Land of Goshen. It contains a village also called Goshen, which is the county seat of Orange County. The town is centrally located in the county. History European settlement began around 1714, although plans for this were made beginning about 1654. The town was established in 1788, after the American Revolutionary War and New York becoming a state. As population increased in the area, in 1830, part of Goshen was divided off to form the new Town of Hamptonburgh. In 1845, another part was used to form the Town of Chester. When the French and Indian War began in 1756, the men of Goshen took up arms. The old ''Journal of the Assembly'' relates the services of Captain George DeKay as an express between Goshen and Minisink. Campbell Hall station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Port Jervis Line, located just south of the eponymous hamlet in the town of Hamptonburgh in Orange County, New York, United States. The station is located at the end of Watkins Road, off Egbertson Road ( County Route 77) a short distance from NY 207 near its intersection with NY 416. The station contains decorative lights, a long platform roof and an elevated mini-high platform at the east end of the station for access by riders in wheelchairs. The Erie Railroad was a railroad that operated in the northeastern United States, originally connecting New York City — more specifically Jersey City, New Jersey, where Erie's Pavonia Terminal, long demolished, used to stand — with Lake Erie, at Dunkirk, New York. It expanded west to Chicago with its 1865 merger with the former Atlantic and Great Western Railroad, also known as the New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio Railroad (NYPANO RR). Its mainline route proved influential in the development and economic growth of the Southern Tier of New York State, including cities such as Binghamton, Elmira, and Hornell. New York State Route 416
New York State Route 416 (NY 416) is a state highway located entirely within the towns of Hamptonburgh and Montgomery in Orange County, New York, in the United States. It extends for in a north–south direction from an intersection with NY 207 in Hamptonburgh to a junction with NY 211 in Montgomery. It does not intersect any other state routes besides those at its termini, nor pass through any settlements. NY 416 is a two-lane highway for its entire length, and mainly serves to allow traffic from the northwestern corner of the county to get to Goshen, the county seat, more easily. Despite its minimal length, the route passes a number of places of interest and is a quite scenic country road. The route was assigned as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York. Port Jervis Line
The Port Jervis Line is a predominantly single-track commuter rail line running between Suffern and Port Jervis, in the U.S. state of New York. At Suffern, the line continues south into New Jersey as NJ Transit's Main Line. The line is operated by NJ Transit Rail Operations under a working agreement with Metro-North Railroad (MNRR). Norfolk Southern Railway (NS) shares the use of the track for local freight operations between Suffern and Port Jervis. The New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway operates over the line between Hudson Junction (east of Campbell Hall) and Port Jervis, and onward to Binghamton over the former Erie Railroad Delaware Division (now the Central New York Railroad).
