New York State Route 12B (NY 12B) is a state highway in the central part of New York in the United States. NY 12B is a north–south highway connecting Oneida County in the north to Chenango County in the south, passing through Madison County in between. The southern terminus of NY 12B is at NY 12 in the village of Sherburne. The northern terminus is at NY 5 in the town of New Hartford. In Madison County, NY 12B directly abuts the campus of Colgate University in the village of Hamilton. History The first settlement of the town of Sherburne took place near the present-day village ''circa'' 1792. The village of Sherburne was incorporated in 1830. New York State Route 26 (NY 26) is a north–south state highway that runs for through Central New York in the United States. Its southern terminus is located at the Pennsylvania state line south of the town of Vestal in Broome County, where it becomes Pennsylvania Route 267 (PA 267). Its northern terminus is located at a junction with NY 12 in the village of Alexandria Bay in Jefferson County. NY 26 serves three cities along its routing; one directly (Rome) and two via other roadways (Binghamton via Interstate 86 (I-86) and NY 17, and Watertown via NY 3). New York State Route 46 (NY 46) is a state highway in Central New York in the United States. It extends from NY 12B in the Madison County town of Eaton to NY 12D in the Oneida County village of Boonville. NY 46 passes through the cities of Oneida and Rome. Route description Eaton to Rome NY 46 begins at an intersection with NY 12B in the town of Eaton (in the hamlet of Pecksport). NY 46 proceeds northwest through Eaton, crossing a junction with County Route 81 (CR 81 or Canal Road). Just north of the junction, the route crosses over the abandoned canal, immediately entering the hamlet of Pine Woods, where it runs along Leland Pond into an intersection with NY 26 (Fargo Road). Eaton is a town in Madison County, New York, United States. The population was 5,255 at the 2010 census. The Town of Eaton is in the south-central part of the county. US Route 20 passes across the northern part of the town. History The town was the principal location of the Oneida tribe, a sub-group of the Iroquois that allied itself with the colonial forces during the American Revolution.
