The New Nigeria People's Party is a populist political party in Nigeria, predominantly active in Kano State. Abba Kabir Yusuf born (5 January 1963) is a Nigerian politician who has served as the governor of Kano State since 2023. He served as a commissioner of executive council in Kano State from 2011 to 2015. Early life and education Abba Kabir Yusuf was born in the notable family of Malam Kabiru Yusuf and Hajiya Khadijatul-Naja’atu in Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State on 5 January 1963. 2023 Kano State Gubernatorial Election
The 2023 Kano State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Kano State, concurrent with elections to the Kano State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. 2023 Nigerian General Election
The 2023 Nigerian general election will be held, in large part, on 25 February and 11 March 2023. The President and Vice President will be elected on 25 February, with incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari ineligible to run, being term-limited. Additionally, there will also be elections on the same day for the Senate and the House of Representatives. On 11 March, twenty-eight gubernatorial elections will be held alongside elections to state houses of assembly in all 36 states. Two additional gubernatorial elections will be held later in the year alongside potential rerun elections for regularly scheduled elections annulled from earlier in the year. The National Assembly (popularly referred to as NASS) is the nation's highest legislature, whose power is to make laws, is summarized in chapter one, section four of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution.
