State Road 225 (NM 225) is a , paved, two-lane state highway in Doña Ana County in the U.S. state of New Mexico. NM 225's western terminus is north of La Union at the road's junction with NM 28. The road's eastern terminus is near Anthony at the Texas state line where it continues east as Farm to Market Road 1905 (FM 1905) in Texas. NM 225 is also known as Washington Street. Route description The highway begins at the junction with NM 28 north of La Union, right across from Gadsden High School. The road heads mainly east through pecan orchards and fields of Mesilla Valley and after approximately crosses the Rio Grande river over a bridge, built in 1990. The highway continues travelling east, passing by Gadsden Middle School, before reaching its eastern terminus at the Texas state line at the western outskirts of the community of Anthony. Anthony is a city in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 9,360 at the 2010 census. It is located on the New Mexico–Texas state line in the Upper Mesilla Valley (immediately north of Anthony, Texas), and on Interstate 10, 24 miles south of Las Cruces and 18 miles north of El Paso, Texas. Doña Ana County is located in the southern part of the State of New Mexico, United States. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, its population was 219,561, which makes it the second-most populated county in New Mexico. Its county seat is Las Cruces, the second-most populous municipality in New Mexico after Albuquerque, with 111,385 as of the 2020 U.S. Census. New Mexico State Road 28 (NM 28) is a paved, two-lane state highway in Doña Ana County, in the U.S. state of New Mexico. It travels south-to-north roughly paralleling the Rio Grande. The southern terminus of NM 28 is at the Texas state line west of Canutillo where Farm to Market Road 259 (FM 259; Canutillo La Union Avenue) ends. The northern terminus is in Las Cruces where it intersects NM 478. It also has an interchange with Interstate 10 (I-10) in Las Cruces, shortly before its terminus. Farm To Market Road 1905
Farm To Market Road 1905 (FM 1905) is a farm-to-market road in the U.S. state of Texas, maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation. The entire route is in the town of Anthony, which is located across the state line from New Mexico. It is the first road with which Interstate 10 has an interchange after entering Texas from New Mexico. FM 1905 begins at the state border as a continuation of NM 225, and ends at Interstate 10 in Anthony. A short segment is concurrent with SH 20. The FM 1905 designation was first assigned in 1951, and was extended to its current route in 1969. The Mesilla Valley is a geographic feature of Southern New Mexico and far West Texas. It was formed by repeated heavy spring floods of the Rio Grande.
