New Madrid County Central is a secondary school located in New Madrid County, Missouri. It serves grades 912 and is located just outside Howardville, Missouri. The school serves to a majority of New Madrid County, except for Risco High School, Portageville High School, and Gideon High School. The school became county-wide in 1980 when New Madrid, Lilbourn, and Parma High Schools (Matthews joined in 1983) all combined making New Madrid County Central High School. The district consists of one middle school, which is located on the same 60+ acre campus that the high school is on, and three elementary schools which are located in New Madrid, Lilbourn, and Matthews. The high school principal is Justin Poley. New Madrid County, Missouri
; french: Comté de New Madrid) is a county located in the Bootheel of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,434. The largest city and county seat is New Madrid, located on the northern side of the Kentucky Bend in the Mississippi River, where it has formed an oxbow around an exclave of Fulton County, Kentucky. This feature has also been known as New Madrid Bend or Madrid Bend, for the city. The county was officially organized on October 1, 1812, and is named after ''Nuevo Madrid,'' a district located in the region. Howardville, Missouri
Howardville is a city in New Madrid County, Missouri, United States. The population was 383 at the 2010 census. History Howardville was founded by Travis B. Howard, a prominent black educator and activist in the mid-20th century Bootheel region. A graduate of Tuskegee Institute, Howard was inspired by Booker T. Washington's belief that land ownership was among the critical factors in lifting African Americans out of poverty. In the late 1940s, Howard purchased of land encompassing much of what is now Howardville, and sold off lots to displaced black sharecroppers. Kony Montoy Ealy (born December 21, 1991) is a gridiron football defensive end for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Missouri and was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
