New Leaders Council
New Leaders Council (NLC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States that works to recruit, train and promote young progressive leaders ranging from elected officials and civically-engaged leaders in business and industry. NLC's main objective is in "recruiting emerging leaders from outside of the traditional power structures, engaging them on both local and national levels, and equipping them to be civic leaders â not only for elective office, but also in their communities and workplaces." Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (born February 18, 1989) is an politics of the United States, American politician and the incumbent superintendent and CEO of the Chicago Park District. He previously served as Alderperson for Chicago's 35th Ward from May 2015 until his appointment to the Park District in April 2025. Alessandra Rose Biaggi (born May 20, 1986) is an American politician from the state of New York. Biaggi is the granddaughter of former U.S. Congressman Mario Biaggi. A progressive Democrat, Biaggi served as a member of the New York State Senate from 2019 to 2022, representing the 34th district. The district included portions of Bronx and Westchester Counties. Biaggi was first elected to the State Senate in 2018 after she upset longtime Senator Jeffrey D. Klein in the Democratic primary. Netroots Nation is a political Convention (meeting), convention for American Progressivism in the United States, progressive political activists. Originally organized by readers and writers of Daily Kos, a Liberalism, liberal political blog, it was originally called YearlyKos and rebranded as Netroots Nation in 2007. The new name was chosen to reflect the participation of a broader audience of grassroots activists, campaign workers and volunteers, Thought leader, thought leaders, messaging technology innovators as well as local, state, and national elected officials. The Roosevelt Institute is a liberal American think tank headquartered in New York City.
