New:Id (; stylized as new:ID) is a Filipino boy band formed in 2023 by MLD Entertainment. The group is composed of five members: Wilson, Macky, L, Thad, and Jom. Slated to officially debut in late 2023, the quintet is set to release the promotional single "E.R", ahead of their scheduled debut. Career 2022–23: Pre-debut activities and formation On September 7, 2022, executives from ABS-CBN Corporation, ABS-CBN, MLD Entertainment, and Kamp Global signed a deal to debut a Filipino boy band in South Korea. The lineup of the boy band was determined through the reality survival show ''Dream Maker (TV program), Dream Maker'', which saw List of Dream Maker contestants, 62 contestants compete to become part of the band. At the end of the series' run, seven contestants were selected to form the lineup of Hori7on, which debuted on July 24, 2023. Pinoy Pop
Pinoy pop or P-pop (also known as Philippine pop or Pilipino pop) refers to a contemporary pop music in the Philippines originating from the OPM genre. With its beginnings in the late 1970s, Pinoy pop is a growing genre in year of the 2020s. Through the 1990s to the 2000s, Pinoy pop was regularly showcased in the live band scene. Groups such as Neocolours, Side A, Introvoys, the Teeth, Yano, True Faith, Passage and Freestyle popularized songs that clearly reflect the sentimental character of OPM pop of this era. From 2010 to 2020, Philippine pop music or Pinoy pop went through a huge metamorphosis in its increased quality, budget, investment and variety, matching the country's rapid economic growth, and an accompanying social and cultural resurgence of its Asian identity.
