New Hellenic Radio, Internet and Television ( el, Νέα Ελληνική Ραδιοφωνία, Ίντερνετ και Τηλεόραση) or NERIT (ΝΕΡΙΤ) was the state-owned public broadcasting, public broadcaster for Greece from 4 May 2014 to 11 June 2015. Antonis Samaras' coalition government established NERIT to replace the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) in 2013: NERIT began broadcasting under their identity on 4 May 2014, replacing the transitional service Dimosia Tileorasi. In 2015, the government (by then under Alexis Tsipras as Prime Minister) restored ERT as Greece's public broadcaster, and NERIT ceased broadcasting on 11 June 2015 (at 6:00 Eastern European Summer Time, EEST). Alexis Tsipras ( el, Αλέξης Τσίπρας, ; born 28 July 1974) is a Greek politician serving as Leader of the Official Opposition since 2019. He served as Prime Minister of Greece from 2015 to 2019. Tsipras has led the Coalition of the Radical Left, known as Syriza, a left-wing political party, since 2009. He was the fourth Prime Minister who governed in the course of the 2010s government-debt crisis. In January 2015, Tsipras led Syriza to victory in a snap legislative election, winning 149 out of 300 seats in the parliament and forming a coalition with Independent Greeks, a right-wing nationalist party.
