The New Government Reserved Area (New GRA) is an upper middle class mixed-use neighborhood of Port Harcourt, the capital and largest city in Rivers State. Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt
Trans Amadi is a thousand-hectare (2,500-acre) industrial area, as well as a diverse residential neighborhood, in the city of Port Harcourt. Situated at 4°48'53" N latitude and 7°2'14" E longitude, the neighborhood supports a strong manufacturing sector and is considered to be a major industrial zone in Port Harcourt. The Old Government Reserved Area (Old GRA) is a neighborhood of the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Nigeria. It was primarily inhabited by European settlers during colonial times and was then referred to as the ''European quarters''. ''The Tide'' is a Nigerian daily newspaper. It is the most widely circulated newspaper published in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and one of Nigeria's major newspapers. Owned and funded by the state, ''The Tide'' began printing operations on 1 December 1971 and has a digital version. Fire On 20 July 2012, a fire broke out in ''The Tide''s main building, damaging significant portions of the establishment, including the General Manager's office, Credit Control Unit, Administration General office and Board Room. Although no injuries or deaths were reported, much of the company's equipment and staff documents were destroyed.
