New Forest Volleyball Club
New Forest Volleyball is an English volleyball club based at the New Forest Volleyball Centre at Ballard_School_(New_Milton), Ballard School, England, affiliated with Volleyball England. The club has teams competing in the National Volleyball League, The Southampton and District Volleyball Association and has continued to develop junior volleyball in collaboration with Lymington Volleyball Club leading to progressing through several rounds of the U15, U16 and U18 National Cups over the last five years. At the Extraordinary General Meeting on 25 November 2013, the club merged with Lymington Volleyball Club to become New Forest & Lymington Volleyball. The club plays an active part in the South East Volleyball Association and many of its players have progressed into the Inter Regional Competitions. Ballard School (New Milton)
Ballard School is a private, private school located in New Milton, Hampshire, for children aged 2 to 16 years. The Headmaster is Andrew McCleave (since 2018). Ballard School offers scholarships and bursaries, and does not require an entrance exam for admission The school regularly holds Open Mornings for prospective pupils and parents. History Ballard School was founded as the Royal Naval School by William Higgs Colborne and James Cruickshank at Lee-on-the-Solent in August 1895. Great Ballard House was designed by Sydney Kelway Pope M.S.A, a local Southampton architect. One of the first pupils was named Trevor John Tatham. He joined the school as a teacher in 1916 and remained until his death in 1952. Around 1905, the Royal Navy requested that the name be changed and so it was renamed as Edinburgh House School. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. Volleyball England
Volleyball England is the national governing body for indoor volleyball, sitting volleyball and beach volleyball in England. It selects the national teams and coordinates several national competitions, including the National Volleyball League, National Cup, Student Cup and Sitting Volleyball competitions. For beach volleyball it partners with the UK Beach Tour (UKBT) to deliver tournaments across the UK and a national ranking system for players. Volleyball England also coordinates national junior development squads via the Volleyball England Talent Pathway, and organises the training and assessment of referees and coaches.
