"New Divide" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. The song is released as a single and was recorded specifically for the soundtrack, '' Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – The Album'' to Michael Bay's film '' Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen''. It was written by the band and produced by band member Mike Shinoda. It also serves as the film's main theme, and was released as the soundtrack's lead single on May 18, 2009, by Reprise Records. Despite the film's critical failure, "New Divide" was widely acclaimed by professional critics, and remains one of the most popular songs in Linkin Park's discography. It is one of the few songs to top the US Rock Songs, Alternative Songs and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks at the same time. Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. The band's current lineup comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave Farrell, DJ/turntablist Joe Hahn and drummer Rob Bourdon, all of whom are founding members. ''A Thousand Suns'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Linkin Park. It was released on September 13, 2010, by Warner Bros. Records. The album was written by the band and was produced by Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin, who worked together to produce the band's previous studio album ''Minutes to Midnight'' (2007). Recording sessions for ''A Thousand Suns'' took place at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, California from 2008 until early 2010. ''A Thousand Suns'' is a concept album dealing with human fears such as nuclear warfare. The band has said the album is a drastic departure from their previous work; they experimented on different and new sounds. The San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team based in San Jose, California. Steve Jablonsky (born October 9, 1970) is an American composer for film, television and video games, best known for his musical scores in the ''Transformers'' film series. Some of his frequent collaboration partners include film directors Michael Bay and Peter Berg, and fellow composer Hans Zimmer. Early life Jablonsky's mother was born in a Japanese internment camp.
