Shatabdi Express trains are a series of fast passenger trains operated by Indian Railways to connect important metro cities. Shatabdi Express are day-trains and mostly return to their origin station the same day. The Indian locomotive class WAP-7 is a class of 25 Volt, kV Alternating current, AC Electric locomotive, electric locomotives that was developed in 1999 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for Indian Railways. The model name stands for 5 ft 6 in gauge railway, broad gauge (W), AC Current (A), Passenger traffic (P) engine, 7th generation (7). They entered service in 2000. The 12011/12012 Kalka Shatabdi Express is a Superfast Express train of Shatabdi class belonging to Indian Railways that runs between New Delhi and Kalka in India. It is a daily service. It operates as train number 12011 from New Delhi railway station to Kalka railway station and as train number 12012 in the reverse direction.
