Ryūgasaki Airfield
is a privately owned airfield in the city Ryūgasaki, Ibaraki, Japan. The airport was opened on November 11, 1969, as a private venture by Sojitz, Nissho Iwai. Although there are no scheduled flights, it is a base for light aircraft and pilot training. Due to its proximity to Narita International Airport, the airspace around the airport is under traffic control by Narita, and there are certain restrictions on operations. , also known as , is an airport located on the island of Izu Ōshima, Tokyo, Japan . History Ōshima Airport was built in June 1964, with a runway. The runway was lengthened to its present length in October 2002 to permit operations by jet-powered aircraft. From August 2008, All Nippon Airways (ANA) began daily services to Haneda Airport in Tokyo. New Central Airservice began operations to Chofu Airport from 2009. The Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander is a British light utility aircraft and regional airliner designed and originally manufactured by Britten-Norman of the United Kingdom. The Dornier 228 is a twin-turboprop STOL utility aircraft, designed and first manufactured by Dornier GmbH (later DASA Dornier, Fairchild-Dornier) from 1981 until 1998. Two hundred and forty-five were built in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. In 1983, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) bought a production licence and manufactured another 125 aircraft in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. In July 2017, 63 aircraft were still in airline service. In 2009, RUAG started building a Dornier 228 New Generation in Germany. is a volcano, volcanic Islands of Japan, Japanese island administered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. It is one of the Izu Seven Islands group of the seven northern islands of the Izu Islands, Izu archipelago, and is located approximately south of Tōkyō and south of Shimoda, Shizuoka, Shimoda Shizuoka Prefecture. Miyakejima
is an inhabited volcanic island in the Izu archipelago in the Philippine Sea approximately southeast of Tokyo, Japan. As with the other islands in the Izu Island group, Miyake-jima forms part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Etymology There are many theories about the origin of Miyake-jima's name. One theory claims a manuscript about the island's genesis called the ''Miyakeki'' (三宅記), written by a Shinto priest from the island, influenced the name. The manuscript explains how a deity, ''Mashima (三嶋)'', constructed his palace on the island after having built two other houses on neighbouring islands. Each of the houses had their backs facing the palace, thus giving a lined up impression. This belief is known as the 'three house theory'. Another hypothesis says that the shrines on Miyake-jima are historically related to those on Miyajima, an island in Hiroshima Bay.
