New Brunswick Training School
The New Brunswick Training School was a youth detention centre in Kingsclear, New Brunswick, Canada, about west of Fredericton. Opened in the 1940s, it was the provincial male youth detention centre. It closed in 1998 following an inquiry into abuse there. It was a wing of the Kingsclear Reformatory, a minimum security facility located nearby, which closed in 2000. Kingsclear, New Brunswick
Kingsclear is an unincorporated rural area 20 km west of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The area includes forests, Saint John River shoreline, agricultural land, small businesses, rural residences, and the Mactaquac Dam. Access is via the Trans-Canada Highway, and NB Routes 102, and 3. Local governance is provided by the Kingsclear Local Service District (KLSD). The KSLD does not govern the Maliseet Indian Reserve Kingsclear 6, which forms an enclave. About 2,800 people live within the area of the KLSD.
