New Brookland Tavern
New Brookland Tavern is a bar and music venue located in Five Points (Columbia, South Carolina). New Brookland Tavern is one of, if not the oldest, continuous running music venues in the Columbia area. It is known for presenting live music 365 days a year. They have an annual New Year's Eve cover show and Emo Nights with 2000s music. It takes its name from the previous name for West Columbia where it was previously located. Notable events The bar was featured on the October 5, 1998, episode of ''WCW Monday Nitro'' when Mike Tenay was on the road with the members of the nWo Wolfpac (Kevin Nash, Lex Luger and Konnan), who were on a hunt for Scott Hall, an nWo Hollywood member. In 1999, it hosted Collapsis, a late 90s band from the Chapel Hill scene, and Death Cab for Cutie. Adam Lazzara
Adam Burbank Lazzara (born September 22, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is the lead vocalist of the rock band Taking Back Sunday. Along with singing lead vocals, Lazzara plays guitar and occasionally the harmonica. Biography While recording their first six track EP, Jesse Lacey left the band to form Brand New with Brian Lane, the drummer of The Rookie Lot. Then, John Nolan half-jokingly asked his friend, Adam Lazzara from High Point, North Carolina if he would move to Long Island and play bass for the band. Within the next week, Adam had moved to Bellmore with John, and was the full-time bassist. Adam worked at guitarist Eddie Reyes' father's deli for pay. Stretch Arm Strong (Also known as Stretch Armstrong) is a hardcore punk band from Columbia, South Carolina, and the flagship band for We Put Out Records. They were primarily active from 1992 to 2005. Several of the band members are outspoken Christians, but they prefer not to be classified as a Christian band in some cases. Vocalist Chris McLane appears on Zao's ''The Lesser Lights of Heaven'' DVD. In 2020, the band was announced to perform at Furnace Fest 2020.
