New Britain station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in New Britain, Pennsylvania. Located at Tamenend and Matthews Avenues, it serves the Lansdale/Doylestown Line. On December 18, 2011, weekend service was discontinued at this station due to low ridership. New Britain is a borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,152 at the 2010 census. Geography New Britain is located at (40.299256, -75.178224). Natural features include Cooks Run and Neshaminy Creek. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of , all land. History Eugene James built an estate about 1731 and included the Mathews homestead, a fine Colonial house built in 1744 upon the site of an earlier house destroyed by fire. Lansdale/Doylestown Line
The Lansdale/Doylestown Line is a SEPTA Regional Rail line connecting Center City Philadelphia to Doylestown in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Until 1981, diesel-powered trains continued on the Bethlehem Branch from Lansdale to Quakertown, Bethlehem, and Allentown. Restored service has been proposed, but is not planned by SEPTA. The line is currently used by the East Penn Railroad, serving Quakertown's industrial complexes and distribution centers. With around 17,000 daily riders every weekday in 2019, it is the second busiest line in SEPTA's Regional Rail network. Doylestown Station
Doylestown station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. It is the last station along SEPTA's Lansdale/Doylestown Line. Located at the intersection of Bridge Street and Clinton Avenue, the station has a 169-space parking lot. It was originally built in 1871 by the Reading Railroad, as a much more elaborate Victorian structure than the present station. It had a decorative cupola over the ticket window and served as a Reading Railroad office at one point. The former freight house survives to this day. This station is wheelchair accessible. Description Doylestown station consists of a side platform along the tracks. There are five tracks at the station which allow for storage of trains. The station has a ticket office which is open on weekday mornings, as well as an ATM. In the past there was a pizza shop inside the station building.
