NewKidCo International Inc. ( TSE:NKC; OTC BB: NKCIF) was an American video game publisher of children's titles based on popular licensed characters, for Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft consoles. It went out of business in 2005. The publisher was acquired by Alpha Software which then was acquired by SoftQuad Software and subsequently, SoftQuad was renamed to NewKidCo. Initially NewKidCo had subsidiary offices in Burlington, Massachusetts and Midtown Manhattan, New York City. At a later point, it was headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, with its only office being there. NewKidCo had a partnership with Canadian animation studio CinéGroupe to make video games based on Tom and Jerry and Dora the Explorer. Circa 2003, two of NewKidCo's properties, Winnie the Pooh and Dora the Explorer, were sold to Gotham Games. Tom And Jerry In War Of The Whiskers
''Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers'' is a fighting video game developed by VIS Entertainment, published by NewKidCo for PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. It is the sequel to the 3D cartoon fighting video game ''Tom and Jerry in Fists of Furry'' for Nintendo 64 and Microsoft Windows. It allows up to four players to play simultaneously. It is the only NewKidCo game and the only '' MGM's Tom and Jerry'' game, released to receive a T rating. The PlayStation 2 version was released in all major regions, and the GameCube and Xbox versions were only released in North America. The game received mixed reviews from critics, with Metacritic scores of 63/100, 64/100, and 50/100 on PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox, respectively. There have been a variety of ''Sesame Street'' video games released for video game platforms. Most of the ''Sesame Street'' video games were published and developed by NewKidCo. Video games ''The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland'' ''Alpha Beam with Ernie'' ''Big Bird's Egg Catch'' ''Big Bird's Egg Catch'' (originally ''Grover's Egg Catch'') is a 1983 video game for the Atari 2600 developed by Atari and Children's Computer Workshop. In ''Big Bird's Egg Catch'', the player controls Big Bird as he saves eggs produced by chickens at the top of the screen. These eggs travel down variously contorted chutes to land safely in the basket perched on Big Bird's head. Most eggs count for a single point, but a golden egg will periodically appear that is worth five points. When an egg is dropped, a number of points are lost.
