Neuffen Bahnhof
Neuffen is a town in the district of Esslingen, in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Geography It is located 14 km northeast of Reutlingen, and 28 km southeast of Stuttgart. Its major attraction is a quite impressive castle with strong walls, the Hohenneuffen, which lies high above the town at the ridge of the Swabian Jura. Esslingen (district)
Esslingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the centre of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Rems-Murr, Göppingen, Reutlingen, Böblingen and the district-free city Stuttgart. Until 15 October 1964 the district's name was written officially as Landkreis Eßlingen. History The district dates back to the Oberamt Esslingen, which was created when the previously free imperial city of Esslingen am Neckar became part of Württemberg in 1803. It was changed several times in the course of history. Since 1810 it belonged to the ''Landvogtei Rothenberg'' and from 1818 until it was dissolved in 1924 to the ''Neckarkreis''. Metzingen () is a Swabian city with about 22,000 inhabitants, in Reutlingen county, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, south of Stuttgart. Gottfried von Neifen ( fl. 1234–1255) was a German ''Minnesänger'' (lyric poet). Gottfried was born to an ''Edelfrei'' famly of Swabia. He was associated with the court of King Henry VII of Germany (1220–1235) and is mentioned in documents between 1234 and 1255. Other poets associated with the court of Henry (VII) are Burkhart von Hohenfels and Ulrich von Winterstetten. Gottfried's poetry falls squarely within the conventions of courtly love. His language is somewhat more sensual than typical, with references to sparkling eyes (''spilnde ougen'') and red lips (''rôter munt''). He stands out, however, for his adept handling of rhyme. His form was directly influenced by the Old Occitan lyric. His lightness and verbal agility were an influence on Konrad von Altstetten. Railway Vehicle Preservation Company
The Railway Vehicle Preservation Society (''Gesellschaft zur Erhaltung von Schienenfahrzeugen e.V.'' or GES) is one of the oldest societies in Germany that runs a museum railway. Reinhold Maier
Reinhold Maier (16 October 1889 – 19 August 1971) was a German politician and the leader of the FDP from 1957–1960. From 1946 to 1952 he was Minister President of Württemberg-Baden and then the 1st Minister President of the new state of Baden-Württemberg until 1953. He served as the 4th President of the Bundesrat in 1952/53, the only FDP politician in German history to do so to date. Maier was born in Schorndorf.
