Nette (Middle Rhine)
The Nette is a small river in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, a left tributary of the Rhine. It rises in the Eifel, south of Nürburg. The Nette flows east through Mayen before reaching the Rhine between Weißenthurm and Andernach. The Nette is not navigable and has otherwise no strategical importance. It is used in Mayen, among other things, as a supply of the local paper industry. It gives its name to the beer ''Nette Edel Pils'', originally brewed in Weißenthurm (but now brewed in Koblenz by the Koblenzer Brauerei), and the Clinic Nette-Gut of Forensic Psychiatry at Weißenthurm. Theodor Ivanovich Nette (russian: link=no, Теодор Иванович Нетте, born 1895 or 1896 – died February 5, 1926, Moscow, Russia, Moscow-Riga train, Latvia) was a Soviet diplomatic courier of NKID, who died in a terrorist attack on the Soviet train while delivering diplomatic mail to Berlin. Vladimir Mayakovsky published a poem praising his death – "To Comrade Nette, the Man and the Ship" (1926) saying he wants to die like Nette. Biography Born in Latvia (possible version). Son of the shoemaker. Learned German. Joined the Social Democratic Party when he was 17. After World War I broke he and his father was arrested. Imprisoned at Riga Central, later transported to Petrograd Kresty Prison. Released in March 1917 and returned to Latvia. Koblenzer Brauerei (formerly ''Königsbacher Brauerei GmbH & Co KG'') is a brewery in Koblenz, in the Rhineland-Palatinate state of Germany. Since its foundation in 1689, it has a tradition of brewing beer in the Old Brewery (''Altes Brauhaus'') in the historic center of Koblenz. In 1992, the Königsbacher Brewery was taken over by the Karlsberg Group. The Königsbacher Brewery's brands, but not the brewery building, were sold to the Bitburger brewery in early 2010. The brewery was sold and re-incorporated in 2012. Overview The former name comes from a small river near Koblenz named Königsbach (King's Brook), whose clear water was suitable for brewing beer: "Königsbacher" is German for "from the Königsbach" (from the King's Brook). Bockenem (; Eastphalian: ''Bokeln'') is a town in the district of Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, Germany that was founded in 1154. It is located on the German Timber-Frame Road.
