Netherley (Liverpool Ward)
Netherley ward was an electoral division of Liverpool City Council between 1980 and 2004. It and was centred on the Netherley district of Liverpool. Background The ward was first formed in 1980 and was dissolved in 2004. A report of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England published in November 1978 set out proposals for changes to the wards of Liverpool City Council, maintaining the number of councillors at 99 representing 33 wards. Liverpool is a city and metropolitan borough in Merseyside, England. Woolton East (Liverpool Ward)
Woolton (; ) is an affluent suburb of Liverpool, England. It is located southeast of the city and is bordered by Allerton, Gateacre, Halewood, and Hunt's Cross. At the 2011 Census, the population was 12,921. Overview Originally a standalone village, Woolton was incorporated into Liverpool in 1913. The area was referred to as "Uluentune" in the Domesday Book, with the name translating as "farm of Wulfa". Shortly after the Domesday survey, which was completed in 1086, Woolton became part of the Barony of Halton and Widnes. In 1189, a charge was granted by John, Constable of Chester, to the order of Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, a religious order who protected the routes for Christians on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Belle Vale is an electoral division of Liverpool City Council in the Garston and Halewood Parliamentary constituency. Background The ward was formed in 2004 and the boundaries were altered in 2023. From 2023 the ward is represented by two councillors. 2004 boundaries A review by the Boundary Committee for England recommended that the council was formed of a reduced number of 90 members elected from 30 wards. The Belle Vale was created from the former Netherley and Valley wards. The ward boundaries followed the city boundary and the North Liverpool Extension Line.
