Netherlands In The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014
The Netherlands selected their Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 entry through ''Junior Songfestival'', a national selection consisting of eight songs. The competing songs were broken down into two semi-finals taking place on 13 and 20 September 2014. The winner was announced to be Julia van Bergen (credited as Julia) with her song "Around" on 27 September 2014. The expert jury consisted of Xander de Buisonjé, Niels Geusebroek, and Yvonne Coldeweijer. Before Junior Eurovision ''Junior Songfestival 2014'' From each semi-final two entries qualified for the final based on the decision of adult and kids juries as well as televoting. The fifth entry in the final was chosen by online voting (web wildcard). Harderwijk (; Dutch Low Saxon: ) is a municipality and city of the Netherlands. It is served by the Harderwijk railway station. Its population centres are Harderwijk and Hierden. Harderwijk is on the western boundary of the Veluwe. The southeastern half of the municipality is largely forests. History Harderwijk received city rights from Count Otto II of Guelders in 1231. A defensive wall surrounding the city was completed by the end of that century. The oldest part of the city is near where the streets Hoogstraat and Grote Poortstraat now are. Tim Douwsma (born 4 November 1987) is a Dutch singer. In 2007, he participated in the talent show '' So You Wanna Be a Popstar'' on Dutch television channel SBS 6. Career Douwsma was born in Drachten, Friesland, Netherlands. After graduation from high school, he studied at the CIOS, a sports training school, but stopped his training to focus more on a singing and acting career, as well as briefly modeling. Margaret Gertrude Mary (Monique) Smit (born 9 April 1989) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. Early life Monique grew up in Volendam as the younger sister of Jan Smit. After finishing school, she attended Don Bosco College, and later became a hairdresser. Career Smit participated in her brother's reality series ''Gewoon Jan Smit''. Rachel Traets (born 16 August 1998) is a singer from the Netherlands. Traets lives in Wouw, a small village in the south-west of the Netherlands. In October 2011 she won the Dutch music competition Netherlands in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011, Junior Songfestival 2011 with the song "" ( en, "I Am A Teenager"). She was selected to represent her country in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 held on 3 December 2011 in Yerevan, Armenia. A few weeks later the title "" was shrunk to "Teenager", which would be the official title for the Dutch entry. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 was the 12th edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and took place, for the first time, in Malta. This was the third time that the contest was hosted by the winning country. Maltese national broadcaster PBS was the host broadcaster for the event. The final took place on 15 November 2014 and was in the Malta Shipbuilding in Marsa, near Valletta. Moira Delia, a Maltese television personality, hosted the show, marking the first time in Junior Eurovision history that there was only one presenter of the show. Tjeerd-Pieter David Oosterhuis (; born 25 December 1971), also known as TJ Oosterhuis, is a Dutch musician, songwriter and producer known internationally for his chart topping work with Madcon, Kelly Rowland and Estelle. His production of Freaky Like Me for Madcon was a number 1 hit Norway. It went four times platinum there and received a gold certification in Germany. Eric Job van Tijn (born 2 November 1956, in Amsterdam) is a Dutch music producer and judge on the Dutch versions of the music competitions '' Idols'' and ''X Factor''. He comes from a musical family. His parents Eli and Lena van Tijn founded ''Artisound'' the year he was born and he grew up around the studio. In his youth, and during school years, he played in various bands.
