Nesseby (village)
Nesseby or is a small village in Nesseby Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on the southern coast of the Varanger Peninsula, near the inner part of the Varangerfjorden. The European route E75 highway runs through the village on its way from Varangerbotn to Vadsø. Nesseby Church lies on a small peninsula on the coast of the village. Finnmark
Finnmark (; se, Finnmárku ; fkv, Finmarku; fi, Ruija ; russian: Финнмарк) was a county in the northern part of Norway, and it is scheduled to become a county again in 2024. On 1 January 2020, Finnmark was merged with the neighbouring county of Troms to form the new Troms og Finnmark county. On 1 January 2024, the county will be demerged back to the counties Finnmark and Troms, after a decision made by parliament on 15 June 2022. By land, it bordered Troms county to the west, Finland ( Lapland region) to the south, and Russia (Murmansk Oblast) to the east, and by water, the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean) to the northwest, and the Barents Sea (Arctic Ocean) to the north and northeast. Nesseby Church ( no, Nesseby kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Nesseby Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located in the village of Nesseby, overlooking the Varangerfjorden. Vadsø (town)
Vadsø ( sme, Čáhcesuolu ; fkv, Vesisaari) is a town in Vadsø Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The town is the administrative centre of both Vadsø Municipality and Finnmark county, and is the largest town in East Finnmark. The town is located on the southern shore of the Varanger Peninsula, along the Varanger Fjord. Part of the town lies on the island of Vadsøya. It is connected to the rest of the town on the mainland by a bridge. The town has a population (2017) of 5,064 which gives the town a population density of . Varangerbotn ( sme, Vuonnabahta) is the administrative centre of Nesseby Municipality, Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located at the innermost part of the large Varangerfjorden. The village is located at the intersection of the European route E6 and European route E75 highways. The villages of Karlebotn and Nesseby or (also unofficially ''Uuniemi'' in Kven) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Varangerbotn. European Route E75
European route E 75 is part of the International E-road network, which is a series of main roads in Europe. The E 75 starts at the town of Vardø in Norway by the Barents Sea and it runs south through Finland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Greece. The road ends after about (not counting ferries) at the town of Sitia on eastern end of the island of Crete in the Mediterranean Sea, it being the most southerly point reached by an E-road. (The northernmost one is E69) From the beginning of the 1990s until 2009, there was no ferry connection between Helsinki and Gdańsk. However, Finnlines started a regular service between Helsinki and Gdynia. Varangerfjorden
The Varangerfjord ( en, Varanger Fjord; russian: Варангер-фьорд, Варяжский залив; fi, Varanginvuono; sme, Várjavuonna) is the easternmost fjord in Norway, north of Finland. The fjord is located in Troms og Finnmark county between the Varanger Peninsula and the mainland of Norway. The fjord flows through the municipalities of Vardø, Vadsø, Nesseby, and Sør-Varanger. Varanger Peninsula
The Varanger Peninsula ( no, Varangerhalvøya; sme, Várnjárga; fkv, Varenkinniemi) is a peninsula in Finnmark county, Norway. It is located in the northeasternmost part of Norway, along the Barents Sea. The peninsula has the Tanafjorden to the west, the Varangerfjorden to the south, and the Barents Sea to the north and east.
