Nesflaten
Nesflaten is a village in Suldal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located on the northern end of the lake Suldalsvatnet, just west of the smaller village of Roalkvam. Nesflaten lies along the Norwegian National Road 13 which connects it to the village of Suldalsosen to the southwest and to the village of Botnen (in the neighboring municipality of Ullensvang in Vestland county). Nesflaten Chapel is located in the village. The village lies in a valley in the northwestern part of Suldal. It is surrounded by many mountains to the northwest of the village including Mælen, Trollaskeinuten, Fitjanuten, Vassdalseggi, Kistenuten, and Knoda Knoda is a mountain in southern Norway. Nesflaten Chapel
Nesflaten Chapel ( no, Nesflaten kapell) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Suldal Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Nesflaten. It is one of the two churches for the Suldal parish which is part of the Ryfylke prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1853 using designs by the architect Hans Linstow. The church seats about 150 people. History A cemetery was built in Nesflaten for the upper Suldalen valley in 1848. A church was built by the cemetery in 1852-1853 by the people who lived in that area. The chapel was consecrated on 4 September 1853. Initially, the chapel was privately owned and paid for by the residents of the area. In 1900, the municipality took over the chapel. The chapel has a tower on the west end of the building with a choir on the east end that is the same width and height of the nave. Suldal is a municipality in the northeast corner of Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Ryfylke. Since 1965, the administrative centre of Suldal is the village of Sand i Ryfylke (prior to that it was the village of Suldalsosen). Kistenuten is a tall mountain in southern Norway. It is located in the Ryfylkeheiane mountains at the tripoint border of three different counties (and three municipalities): Suldal municipality in Rogaland county, Ullensvang municipality in Vestland county, and Vinje municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city.
