Neon Horse
Neon Horse was an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed by Mark Salomon, Jason Martin and Steven Dail. They were previously signed to Tooth & Nail Records with whom they have released two studio albums. Neon Horse's sound has been described as a being influenced by the music of the 1980s. Members Stavesacre lead singer Mark Salomon and Starflyer 59 founder Jason Martin wrote all songs on the band's first album. The September 2007 issue of ''Alternative Press'' states, " u'll notice that you never see them in the same room at the same time with members of Stavesacre, Starflyer 59 and Joy Electric." On April 10, 2008 Neon Horse performed live at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Mark Salomon (of Stavesacre) was the singer, Jason Martin (of Starflyer 59) played guitar, and Steven Dail (of Project 86 and Crash Rickshaw) played bass. Focused was a hardcore punk band that originated out of Long Beach, California in 1991, with a Christian hardcore style. The band broke up in 1996, but reunited briefly in 2009. History Focused began in 1991, created by Tim Mann on vocals, John Schoettler on rhythm guitar, Matt Archuletta on bass, and Jeff Boetto (No For An Answer, Half-Off), on lead guitar. The band played their first song live at a local talent show without an official drummer and asked their friend David Shoemaker to fill-in for that one night. The band would soon bring on Al Christensen on drums. The band played their first official show alongside bands such as Mean Season, Unbroken, and Strife. The Brothers Martin
The Brothers Martin are an indie rock band from Riverside, California consisting of brothers Ronnie Martin and Jason Martin. Musically, they incorporate elements of both Joy Electric and Starflyer 59 (Ronnie and Jason's primary music projects, respectively): electropop and shoegazing, while modern rock and 1980s new wave are also a central influence. As of November 2008, the band was dropped from the "Current Artists" section of the Tooth & Nail website. While there has never been any word from the Martin brothers, it is assumed that The Brothers Martin was a one-time project. Dance House Children was the early 1990s musical group of Ronnie Martin and Jason Martin that was the precursor to The Brothers Martin. In the liner notes of ''Jesus'', Ronnie described its music as trendy, club-oriented music. The group was signed to the Blonde Vinyl label and released two albums, ''Songs & Stories'' (1991) and ''Jesus'' (1992). ''Jesus'' was rereleased by Millennium Eight Records for a limited time. The band was originally named "Love Children," but the label's founder, Michael Knott didn't like the name and suggested "Dance House Jesus" instead. The brothers ended up combining both names, while the leftover ''Jesus'' became the name of their second effort. Like in those by The Brothers Martin, Dance House Children songs were composed by both Ronnie and Jason, while vocals were performed individually, as opposed to in duets. Argyle Park was an underground industrial rock supergroup founded in New York City in 1994 and active until 1996. Members of the group reformed under the name AP2 in 1998, and were active under that name until winter 2000. Signed to Christian music labels, the band suffered repeated controversies within the Christian music scene for not being positive and evangelistic enough in its lyrics and outlook as well as for including contributions from non-Christian musicians. The project was named after an actual park in Babylon, Long Island, where the members of Argyle Park grew up together. The Crucified is an American Christian hardcore and crossover thrash band from Fresno, California that formed in 1984. Its lineup is vocalist Mark Salomon, guitarist Greg Minier, bassist Jeff Bellew, and drummer Jim Chaffin. The band are considered "pioneers of Christian hardcore." During their initial 1984-1993 tenure, the band played at the Cornerstone Festival several times, and also opened for non-religious punk and metal bands like D.R.I. and Pantera. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand.
