Hank Nelken
Hank Nelken is an American screenwriter. Biography Nelken was born in Greenville, Mississippi and went to high school in Dallas, Texas. He started a video business as a teenager, shooting weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. He studied at USC School of Cinema-Television. While at USC, Nelken directed numerous short films, including ''Lets Do Love,'' a satire set in the future about two people who fall in love but never meet. Career Nelken wrote and directed ''Fifteen Minutes'', a short film that premiered at the USC First Look Festival. Afterwards, he partnered with Greg DePaul. From 1998 to 2001, Nelken and DePaul wrote several screenplays, including ''Saving Silverman'' released in 2001. Afterwards, Nelken and DePaul split and Nelken wrote ''Mama's Boy'', a spec screenplay that was purchased in 2003 by Warner Brothers. Margarita Nelken
Margarita Nelken (5 July 1894– 5 March 1968) was a Spanish feminist and writer. She was a well known intellectual and a central figure in the earliest Spanish women's movement in the 1930s. Early life and education Nelken was born María Teresa Lea Nelken y Mansberger in Madrid in 1894. Her parents were of German-Jewish origin and owners of a jewellery store. She studied music, painting and languages, and she learned to speak French, German and English besides her native Spanish. Her sister, Carmen Eva Nelken, was an actress and writer. Career and views Nelken wrote books of fiction with a socio-political orientation in the 1920s, including ''La trampa del arenal'' (The sand trap, 1923). Carmen Eva Nelken Mansberger (6 February 1898 – 3 November 1966), known by the pseudonym Magda Donato, was a Spanish writer, journalist, playwright, and actress who went into exile in Mexico after the Spanish Civil War. She was the sister of writer and politician Margarita Nelken. Biography Carmen Eva Nelken Mansberger was born on 6 February 1898 in Madrid, to a merchant family of German Jewish ancestry. Her father was a Spanish jeweler. Her mother, born in France, was the daughter of a watchmaker who, in 1889, had gone to Madrid to work as a palace watchmaker, and also owned a watch and jewelry store on the Puerta del Sol, No. 15. Her wealthy family gave her access to higher education, which was uncommon for women at that time.
