Neil Wohlwend
Neil Edward Wohlwend (May 12, 1913 – February 8, 1978) was an American football and basketball coach and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Background Wohlwend was born in Barnesville, Minnesota and was involved in the insurance business. He served in the United States Navy and went to graduated school at University of Minnesota. Career He served as the head football coach at Minnesota State–Moorhead Dragons, Minnesota State University at Moorhead from 1946 to 1948 before embarking on a career in politics. Wohlwend served as a Minnesota state representative from 1973 to 1974. Minnesota State–Moorhead Dragons
The MSU Moorhead Dragons (also MSUM Dragons and formerly Moorhead State Dragons) are the athletic teams that represent Minnesota State University Moorhead, located in Moorhead, Minnesota, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Dragons generally compete as members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for all 14 varsity sports. Varsity teams Minnesota State University Moorhead plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference as one of the charter members. The conference was founded as the Northern Teachers Athletic Conference in 1932, when MSUM was Moorhead State Teachers College. For decades, the NSIC competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. In 1964, MSUM won the NAIA national championship in wrestling.
