Neil Haven Klock
Neil Haven Klock (November 9, 1896 – August 10, 1978) was an American politician. He served as a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. Klock was the son of John Charles Klock. He attended Texas A&M University and served in the United States Army during World War I. At one time he ran the Meeker Sugar Refinery, a syrup business, with his brother Ernest Klock. In 1940, Klock won election to the Louisiana House of Representatives where he served until 1944. He was a farmer when he retired. The Louisiana House of Representatives (french: link=no, Chambre des Représentants de Louisiane) is the lower house in the Louisiana State Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Louisiana. This chamber is composed of 105 representatives, each of whom represents approximately 42,500 people (2000 figures). Members serve four-year terms with a term limit of three terms (twelve years). The House is one of the five state legislative lower houses that has a four-year term, as opposed to the near-universal two-year term. The House convenes at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge. Cheneyville is a town in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is part of the Alexandria, Louisiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 625 at the 2010 census. History The town was named for settler William Cheney. Cheneyville is significant in the history of the Restoration Movement associated with Alexander Campbell. In 1843 most of the membership of a Baptist congregation, under the leadership of William Prince Ford, who had been influenced by Campbell's writings, became a Church of Christ. The Cheneyville Christian Church is the oldest congregation associated with the Restoration Movement in Louisiana. In 1857, Campbell visited the congregation and was favorably impressed by its fellowship between the races.
