Neil Kensington Adam
Neil Kensington Adam (5 November 1891 – 19 July 1973) was a British chemist. Education Adam was born in Cambridge, the first of three children of James Adam (1860–1907), a Classics don, and his classicist wife Adela Marion (née Kensington) (1866–1944). His sister Barbara was a noted sociologist and criminologist, while his brother Captain Arthur Innes Adam was killed in France on 16 September 1916. His maternal uncle was Sir Alfred Kensington, a judge in the Chief Court of the Punjab. Adam was educated at Winchester College, and then studied chemistry at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he later became a fellow (1915–1923). He graduated BA in 1913, received his MA in 1919, and Sc.D in 1928. Silly Wizard
Silly Wizard was a Scottish folk band that began forming in Edinburgh in 1970. The founder members were two like-minded university students— Gordon Jones (guitar, bodhran, vocals, bouzouki, mandola), and Bob Thomas (guitar, mandolin, mandola, banjo, concertina). In January 1972, Jones and Thomas formed a trio with their flatmate Bill Watkins (guitar, vocals, fiddle) and performed (occasionally unpaid) under various band names in Edinburgh folk clubs. In the spring of 1972, Watkins returned to Birmingham and, in June 1972, Chris Pritchard (vocals) came in as his replacement. In July 1972, this newly formed trio were offered their first paid booking at the Burns Monument Hotel, Brig O' Doon, Scotland, and needed a band name in a hurry. The name "Silly Wizard" was chosen and the continuing stream of bookings ensured that the name became permanent. Neil Adam (racehorse Trainer)
Neil Marshall Adam (1932 - 2003) was a British racehorse trainer. He started training with a string of 14 horses at Racecourse Farm, Bescaby, near Melton Mowbray in 1975. In 1976, his horses won two races at Royal Ascot - Cawston Clown won the Coventry Stakes and Gentilhombre won the Cork and Orrery Stakes. The latter won the Prix de l'Abbaye for two consecutive years in 1976 and 1977, as well as the 1977 July Cup and Diadem Stakes. Adam also win the 1977 Nunthorpe Stakes with Haveroid. In that year, he won 27 races worth £64,894 with a string of 61 horses.
