Neighbourhood Youth Alliance Of Iran
The Neighbourhood Youth Alliance of Iran ( fa, اتحاد جوانان محلات ایران, , ') or United Youth of Iran is an alliance of 30 local grassroots groups of Iranian youth created during the Mahsa Amini protests in late 2022. The Alliance organises protests and aims to overthrow the Islamic Republic, replacing it by a secular (anti-islamic) state that respects international human rights treaties including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Sudanese resistance committees ( ar, لجان المقاومة) or neighbourhood committees are informal, grassroots neighbourhood networks of Sudanese residents that started organising civil disobedience campaigns against the government of Omar al-Bashir in 2013 and became a major organised network playing a key role during the Sudanese Revolution. Woman, Life, Freedom (, ) or Woman, Life, Liberty is a popular political Kurdish slogan used in both the Kurdish independence and democratic confederalist movements. The slogan became a rallying cry during the protests which occurred in Iran as a response to the death of Mahsa Amini. Origin The origin of the slogan can be traced to the Kurdish freedom movement of the late twentieth century. The first time that the slogan was used was by members of the Kurdish women's movement, a part of the Kurdish freedom movement which was founded on grassroots activism in response to persecution from the governments of Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria.
