Swoop were an Australian seven-piece rock, funk and disco band established in 1991. Swoop released three studio albums, ''Thriller (Swoop album), Thriller'' (October 1993), ''The Woxo Principle'' (November 1995), and ''Be What You Is'' (January 1999). Their most popular single, 1995's "Apple Eyes", reached No. 9 in Australia on the ARIA Charts, ARIA Singles Chart, and was certified gold by Australian Recording Industry Association, ARIA. The Woxo Principle
''The Woxo Principle'' is the second studio album by Australian funk band Swoop. The album was released in November 1995 and peaked at number 51 on the ARIA Charts. Band member Roland Kapferer said "We don't turn our nose up at any style of music... The strength of our record is that it doesn't sound like anything else you'll hear at the moment". The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The charts are a record of the highest selling songs and albums in various genres in Australia. ARIA became the official Australian music chart in June 1988, succeeding the Kent Music Report, which had been Australia's national music sales charts since 1974. The 1994 Triple J Hottest 100, counted down in January 1995, was a countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J. A CD featuring 32 of the songs was released. A countdown of the videos of most of the songs was also shown on the ABC music series '' Rage''.
