Neelam (film)
''Neelam'' () is an unreleased Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Venkatesh Kumar. It is a Tamil film based in the context of the Sri Lankan Civil War and the rise of Tamil rebel groups including the Tamil Tigers. The film was refused clearance and banned by the Censor board of India as it on the grounds it would damage ties with Sri Lanka. The film features the song 'Alayae o Alayae' by M. S. Viswanathan which was his last song before his demise. Venkatesh Kumar
Pandit M. Venkatesh Kumar (born July 1, 1953) is an Indian Hindustani classical music, Hindustani vocalist. He is best known for his rendition of devotional songs composed by Swami Haridas. Kumar belongs to the Kirana Gharana, Kirana and Gwalior Gharana, Gwalior Gharana. Early life and musical training Kumar was born in Lakshmipura in the Bellary region of northern Karnataka. Kumar's late father Huleppa was a Janapada folk singer and Togalu Gombeyaata, leather puppeteer. In 1968, when he was 15 years old, Venkatesh was taken by his uncle Belagallu Veeranna to the Veereshwara Punyashrama in Gadag-Betageri, Gadag, run by the Veerashaiva saint and Hindustani classical music, Hindustani musician Puttaraj Gawai. Central Board Of Film Certification
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is a statutory film-certification body in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. It is tasked with "regulating the public exhibition of films under the provisions of the Cinematograph Act 1952." The Cinematograph Act 1952 outlines a strict certification process for commercial films shown in public venues. Films screened in cinemas and on television may only be publicly exhibited in India after certification by the board and edited. Certificates and guidelines The board currently issues four certificates. Originally, there were two: U (unrestricted public exhibition with family-friendly movies) and A (restricted to adult audiences but any kind of Nudity not allowed). Bala Singh (7 May 195227 November 2019) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films. After making his debut in Nassar's '' Avatharam'' (1995), he appeared as the antagonist in over a hundred films. Early life and career Bala Singh was born in Kaliyakkavilai, near Marthandam in Kanyakumari District. Bala Singh initially began his career featuring in stage plays and trained with the National School of Drama, before being handed his first film role in Nassar's '' Avatharam'' (1995). He played the role of the chief antagonist, Baasi, an expelled troupe member and won critical acclaim for his performance in the film.
