Ned Hayes
Edmond "Ned" Hayes (1875 – 30 December 1945) was an Irish people, Irish hurling, hurler who played as a forward for the Tipperary GAA, Tipperary senior team. Hayes made his first appearance for the team during the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1899, 1899 championship and was a regular member of the starting for the next few seasons. During that time he won one All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland medal and two Munster Senior Hurling Championship, Munster medals. In 1900 Hayes captained the team to the All-Ireland title. At club level Hayes was a multiple Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, county championship medalist with Moycarkey–Borris GAA, Moycarkey–Borris. Moycarkey–Borris GAA
Moycarkey–Borris GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Littleton but also takes in areas such as Two-Mile-Borris, Horse and Jockey, and Moycarkey. Formation On Sunday, 25 October 1884, a meeting of the Moycarkey branch of the Irish National League was held in their committee rooms in Moycarkey; Rev. D. M. English was in the chair. Very Rev. Watty Dunne
Walter Dunne (18 December 1879 – 9 June 1964) was an Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Tubberadora and was a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team between 1898 and 1905. London GAA
The London County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Coiste Londain) or London GAA is one of the county boards outside Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in London. The county board is also responsible for the London county teams and schools. The county football team compete in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship on an annual basis, the only English based team to do so. They participate through in the Connacht Senior Football Championship as the Irish community in London are considered as part of the province of Connacht. Jack Coughlan
John J. (Jack) Coughlan was an Irish people, Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Tulla GAA, Tulla and with the Clare GAA, Clare and the London GAA, London inter-county teams in the early 1900s. Jack Coughlan was born in Tulla, County Clare, Ireland, an area in the county that was famous for hurling even before the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Coughlan made his name as a hurler with Tulla, and was prominent in the club's Clare Senior Hurling Championship, county title in 1896. He subsequently won a Croke Cup title with Clare later that year. Shortly after these victories Coughlan later left Tulla and emigrated to London. It was here that he played hurling with the great London GAA, London team of the time. He played in the 1900 All-Ireland final but lost out to Tipperary GAA, Tipperary on that occasion. All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1900
The 1900 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 14th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 12 May 1901 and ended on 26 October 1902. Tipperary were the defending champions, and retained their title following a 2-5 to 0-6 defeat of London in the final. This article lists players who have recently captained the Tipperary county hurling team in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. The captain is normally chosen from the club that has won the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship. This did not happen in 1989. In that year Loughmore Castleiney were the reigning county hurling champions but did not hold the captaincy during the championship as none of their players were deemed good enough to make the team. In 1989 therefore Pat McGrath of Loughmore Castleiney was the captain during the National Hurling League and Bobby Ryan of Borris-Ileigh was the captain during the Championship. Had McGrath played in a championship match he was deemed captain for that game, in other words had he come onto the field during the All Ireland he would have collected the trophy.
