Ned Austin
Ned Payne Austin (April 29, 1925 – February 10, 2007) was an American character actor; he was also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA. Austin was in several films, including ''Annie Hall'' and ''The Happy Ending'', and some regional movies and industrial films. He played the bridgemaster in Stephen King's directorial debut, ''Maximum Overdrive'', where he introduced the phrase, "Can't you see we've got a situation here?!". After two seasons of summer stock in Surry, Maine, Austin starred as Daniel Boone for the first three years (1952–1954) of ''Horn in the West'' in Boone, North Carolina and then moved to Denver, Colorado, where he appeared in about forty stage productions, in various theatre companies. His television credits include several children's shows and parts in '' Movin' On'', ''Alias Smith and Jones'', ''Route 66'', and a CBS movie of the week, '' Company of Killers'', as well as numerous commercials. Route 66 (TV Series)
''Route 66'' is an American adventure crime drama television series that premiered on CBS on October 7, 1960, and ran until March 20, 1964, for a total of 116 episodes. The series was created by Herbert B. Leonard and Stirling Silliphant, who were also responsible for the ABC drama '' Naked City'', from which ''Route 66'' was an indirect spin-off. Both series employed a format with elements of both traditional drama and anthology drama, but the difference was where the shows were set: ''Naked City'' was set in New York City, while ''Route 66'' had its setting change from week to week, with each episode being shot on location. ASCAP
The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) () is an American not-for-profit performance-rights organization (PRO) that collectively licenses the public performance rights of its members' musical works to venues, broadcasters, and digital streaming services (music stores). ASCAP collects licensing fees from users of music created by ASCAP members, then distributes them back to its members as royalties. In effect, the arrangement is the product of a compromise: when a song is played, the user does not have to pay the copyright holder directly, nor does the music creator have to bill a radio station for use of a song. In 2021, ASCAP collected over US$1.335 billion in revenue and distributed $1.254 billion in royalties to its members. Telluride, Colorado
Telluride is the county seat and most populous town of San Miguel County in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Colorado. The town is a former silver mining camp on the San Miguel River in the western San Juan Mountains. The first gold mining claim was made in the mountains above Telluride in 1875, and early settlement of what is now Telluride followed. The town was founded in 1878 as "Columbia", but due to confusion with a California town of the same name, was renamed Telluride in 1887 for the gold telluride minerals found in other parts of Colorado. These telluride minerals were never found near Telluride, but the area's mines for some years provided zinc, lead, copper, silver, and other gold ores. Telluride sits in a box canyon.
