Necdet Calp (September 7, 1922 – September 13, 1998) was a Turkish civil servant and politician. Early life He was born in Karamürsel ilçe of Kocaeli Province, Turkey on 7 September 1922. He graduated from the Faculty of Political Science, Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science of Ankara University in 1944. He also studied at the London School of Economics. He served as district governor, inspector in the Ministry of Interior (Turkey), Ministry of Interior as well as province governor of Siirt Province, Siirt and İzmir Province, İzmir. İsmail Necdet Kent (1 January 1911 – 20 September 2002) was a Turkish diplomat, who risked his life to save Jews during World War II. While vice-consul in Marseilles, France between 1941 and 1944, he allegedly gave documents of citizenship to dozens of Turkish Jews living in France who did not have proper identity papers, to save them from deportation to the Nazi gas chambers. Ahmet Necdet Sezer (; born 13 September 1941) is a Turkish statesman and judge who served as the tenth president of Turkey from 2000 to 2007. Previously he was president of the Constitutional Court of Turkey from 1998 to 2002. The Grand National Assembly of Turkey elected Sezer as president in 2000 after Süleyman Demirel's seven-year term expired. He was succeeded by Abdullah Gül in 2007. Following his legal career, Sezer became a candidate for the presidency with the joint support of many political parties in Parliament. Necdet Turhan (born 1957) is a Turkish visually impaired mountaineer and national athlete for long-distance running. In 2017 he completed a project that called for running five marathons on five different continents, and climbing five summits in five different continents. Early life Necdet Turhan was born in Balıkesir, Turkey, in 1957. He was schooled in Bursa due to his father's professional assignment. He lost his eyesight due to a corneal disease which began when he was 23. After finishing high school, he studied political science and public administration at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He graduated with honours in 1994.
