Nebraska Extreme
The Nebraska Extreme were an indoor football team that plays in the American Professional Football League. They started as the Omaha Extreme and played their 2006 season in the MIFL. They finished with a 5-3 record. In their second season, the Extreme played as an associate member of the APFL. Only scheduled to play one game against Springfield, they played three games after the Fort Worth Regulators folded. They played two games against the Springfield Wolfpack and one game against the Kansas Koyotes. They were also going to play a game against the Iowa Blackhawks, but the Blackhawks opted to cancel the game and take the forfeit win over Fort Worth. The Extreme finished the season 0-4. The team will become the Nebraska Extreme in 2008. The team is to play road games and one home game, likely in Lincoln, Nebraska. American Professional Football League
The American Professional Football League (APFL) was an indoor football league that was founded in 2003. After the 2012 season, most of the teams left to start the Champions Professional Indoor Football League. The league consisted of professional and semi-professional teams, with a few core teams that played a full 10 game schedule and other teams that played partial schedules. At the end of each season, the playoffs were contested between the league's core teams. The first few years of league play were dominated by the Kansas Koyotes, but in later years the league had more parity and more stable members, resulting in the first championship won by another team, the Iowa Blackhawks (in 2009), and the first championship game not involving the Koyotes, when the Iowa Blackhawks defended their championship against the Mid-Missouri Outlaws in the 2010 APFL season. Fort Worth Regulators
The Texas Regulators were an indoor football team that played in the American Professional Football League in 2007 and 2008. In 2007, they joined the APFL and were to play as the "Fort Worth Regulators". However, arena problems forced them to cancel all home games. The only away games they played were league games against Conroe Storm and an exhibition game against Beaumont Drillers. In the 2008 season, they appeared to have started again, but failed to play out the season. The APFL as a league had started to fall apart, and the NIFL had shut down operations as a league. History The Regulators were also the Fort Worth Sixers of the NIFL. Kansas Koyotes
The Kansas Koyotes, founded by Ralph Adams, were a professional indoor football and were a charter member of the Champions Professional Indoor Football League. Based in Topeka, Kansas, the Koyotes played their home games at Landon Arena. The Koyotes began play in 2003 as a professional football team. Before joining the CPIFL, the Koyotes were a charter member of the former American Professional Football League, where they won the league's first six championships. Brian Hebert, the running back coach, dominated with five great running backs, led by Donnell Smith, and propelled the team to its first championship in 2003, which opened the door for future Koyotes championship teams. The Lincoln Haymakers were a professional indoor football team based in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Haymakers played their 2013–2014 home games at the Pershing Center. The Haymakers were the second indoor football team to call Lincoln home, following the Lincoln Capitols, Lincoln Lightning/Capitols which played in the original Indoor Football League (1999–2000), Indoor Football League (1999–2000), arenafootball2 (2001), and the National Indoor Football League (2002–2006). The Haymakers were last coached by Cory Ross.
