Mount Nebo
Mount Nebo ( ar, جَبَل نِيبُو, Jabal Nībū; he, , Har Nəḇō) is an elevated ridge located in Jordan, approximately above sea level. Part of the Abarim mountain range, Mount Nebo is mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death. The view from the summit provides a panorama of the West Bank across the Jordan River valley. The city of Jericho is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day. The biblical town of Nebo, now known as Khirbet al-Mukhayyat, is located 3.5 km away. Religious significance According to the Bible (Deuteronomy), Moses ascended Mount Nebo, in the land of Moab (today in Jordan), and from there he saw the Land of Canaan (the Promised Land), which God had said he would not enter; Moses then died there. Nebo (biblical Town)
Nebo ( ''Nəḇō''; also ''Nabo, Nebai, Nobai'') is a town name mentioned in several passages of the Hebrew Bible (or Old Testament of Christianity). It is used for two towns, one in the territory assigned in the Bible to the Tribe of Reuben, and another in that of the Tribe of Judah. The Reubenite Nebo is mentioned in , and is mentioned between Sibmah and Beon, the latter being an abbreviation of Baal-meon. In the same chapter, verse 38, it is again mentioned between Cariathaim and Baal-meon, and it is found associated with the same names on the Mesha Stele (line 14). These and other indications show that the town was situated in the vicinity of Mount Nebo; its exact location is identified with Khirbet al-Mukhayyat. It belonged to the rich pasture lands which the tribes of Reuben and Gad asked of Moses in the distribution of the territory (Numbers 32). Nebo is a small village in Gwynedd, Wales. It is adjacent to the small village of Nasareth and near the larger villages of Llanllyfni and Penygroes. Amenities Nebo has a Welsh-medium primary school, Ysgol Gynradd Nebo. As of 2020, there were 18 children on roll at the school. In 2017, approximately 58% of pupils come from Welsh-speaking homes. It is mainly a small residential area now, as the chapel and post office have been sold in the last couple of decades. Betws-y-coed (; '' en, prayer house in the wood'') is a village and community in the Conwy valley in Conwy County Borough, Wales, located in the historic county of Caernarfonshire, right on the boundary with Denbighshire, in the Gwydir Forest. Nebo is a hamlet in the community of Llaneilian, Anglesey, in north-west Wales. It is 140.1 miles (225.4 km) from Cardiff and 218.6 miles (351.8 km) from London. The village is east of Penysarn, near the top of a hill known as Mynydd Nebo. Name and origins An early arrival at what is now a small hamlet was Nebo Calvinistic Methodist Chapel, which was first established here in 1788. The chapel itself was named after Mount Nebo (now in Jordan), the mountain from which Moses is described as seeing the promised land. In 1823 the chapel was rebuilt, and the success of the chapel by the nineteenth century is shown by a religious survey of 1851. The parish of Llanwenllwyfo (now part of Llaneilian Community) was recorded as having 583 residents. Nebo School District is a public school district that serves the southern part of Utah County. Description The district covers more than 1,300 square miles. It is named for nearby Mount Nebo, the tallest peak in the Wasatch Range. The district borders the Alpine, Provo City, Wasatch County, North Sanpete, Juab, and Tintic School Districts. With over 42,000 students, Nebo is the 7th largest school district in Utah.
