Charles Neaves, Lord Neaves
Charles Neaves, Lord Neaves FRSE (14 October 1800 – 23 December 1876) was a Scottish advocate, judge, theologian and writer. He served as Solicitor General (1852), as a judge of the Court of Session, the supreme court of Scotland (1854), and as Rector of the University of St Andrews (1872). Neaves was known as one of the early analysts of the history of evolution, and is often quoted regarding the subjects of evolution and women's rights. Life Neaves was born in Edinburgh on 14 October 1800, the son of Charles Neaves (1777-1868), a Forfar solicitor and clerk of the Justiciary Court in Edinburgh, and his first wife. His father later married Mary Anne Wilson (1792-1887), sister of John and James Wilson. Neaves was educated at the High School and Edinburgh University. He became a member of the Faculty of Advocates at age 22. He married Eliza Macdonald in 1835. They lived (c. 1833) in a large Georgian townhouse at 47 Queen Street in Edinburgh's New Town. Kevon Declan Neaves (born October 24, 1985) was a Trinidadian soccer midfielder who last played for Club Sando in the National Super League. Career Early career Born in Mount Hope, Neaves was raised in Petit Valley, Trinidad and Tobago. He went on to play for St. Anthony's College, where he helped the team win three Intercollegiate Championships and was named the 2005 Trinidad High School Player of the Year. He then relocated to the United States playing in the USL Premier Development League for the Ajax Orlando Prospects. He made 12 appearances while scoring once for the farm team of Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam before playing Division I College soccer for the South Florida Bulls until 2008. Alan Neaves
Alan Reginald Neaves (8 January 1925 – 25 November 2022) was an Australian public servant, lawyer and judge, best known for his role as head of the Attorney-General's Department between 1979 and 1983, and as a Federal Court judge between 1983 and 1995. Life and career Neaves was born in January 1925 in the Sydney suburb of Glebe, the son of Ida Florence and Henry Neaves. Neaves joined the Attorney-General's Department in 1942. After war service with the Royal Australian Air Force, he graduated in law with first class honours from the University of Sydney in 1948, and was admitted to the New South Wales Bar in 1949. In December 1974, Neaves was appointed the next Crown Solicitor, to commence in February 1975. The post came after five years in Sydney as head of the Deputy Crown Solicitor's Office.
