Neath Football Club ( cy, Clwb Pêl-droed Castell-nedd) was a Welsh professional association football club based in Neath last playing in the Welsh Premier League. The club was formed in 2005 following the merger between Neath and Skewen Athletic. Originally known as Neath Athletic A.F.C. the club played its first two seasons in Welsh Football League Division One before being promoted to the Welsh Premier League. The president of the club was Peter Hain M.P., the life vice-president was David Maddock who had been associated with the club and its predecessors (as player, committeeman and secretary) for over 56 years. History The club was formed in 2005 as ''Neath Athletic'' after Neath and Skewen Athletic agreed to merge in an attempt to mount a better challenge to the Welsh Football League Division One title. The Gnoll
The Gnoll ( cy, Y Gnol) in Neath, Wales is a sports ground, with a capacity of 6,000 (formerly 15,000). It is used primarily for rugby union and rugby league, although it has also been used previously for association football and cricket. The stadium has hosted international rugby matches, with it being the home ground of the Wales women's national rugby union team, and men's matches included one during the 2013 Rugby League World Cup against the Cook Islands national rugby league team, Cook Islands. Description In July 2009, Neath RFC presented plans for the redevelopment of the Gnoll, including building a community centre on the site, which were criticised by Neath town councillors as being "too woolly". Kerry Morgan
Kerry David Morgan (born 31 October 1988) is a Welsh footballer who plays as an attacking winger for Merthyr Town. Career Morgan was born in Merthyr Tydfil, but came through the youth ranks at Swansea City. After signing his first professional deal in 2007, he was loaned out to Welsh Premier League neighbours Port Talbot Town, following a short spell in Sweden with the Swans' sister club Östersunds FK. He made a goalscoring debut for the Steelmen in the 5–1 win against Newtown on 25 August and in total went on to score nine goals in 15 league, League Cup and FAW Premier Cup appearances. Morgan remained at Port Talbot until the New Year before being re-called by the Swans but on 3 January 2008 he was loaned out to Spanish Tercera División team CF Balaguer along with team-mate Chad Bond.
